Quora: Teaching ESL Abroad

If I have a teaching degree and am an experienced teacher will a TEFL course help me if I want to teach English in Europe?

Definitely!

Teaching ESL/ EFL is quite different from teaching students of your own language and culture; thus, this training is necessary to help you to alleviate the inherent difficulties of teaching L2 students, and jumping in the stream that crosses cultural borders.

Although many organisations will love you for having that teaching degree, and may hire you just based on that, for your own benefit, it is worth the $400 and the few days of brain-sweat that it takes to complete the online course (they allow you 6 months to complete, but with assiduity, you can knock it out within a week).
